  • Step 1: Run Setup

WARNING: Make sure you close all applications before running the setup program. If your system uses a virus checker, disable it for the duration of the installation.
Run the setup program on the WindNet STREAMS CD-ROM. First, setup looks for the environment variable WIND_BASE, the Tornado root directory. If WIND_BASE is not set, the setup program aborts. You must already have a Tornado tree installed to successfully install WindNet STREAMS for Tornado.

After locating WIND_BASE, the setup program displays a series of dialog boxes. Each setup dialog box has a Cancel button you can use to quit the installation process. To continue after filling out a dialog box, click Next or press ENTER. To return to a previous dialog box, click the Back button.

The setup program first displays the Welcome dialog box. If there are other applications running, click Cancel to quit setup. Otherwise, click Next to proceed with the installation.

  • Step 2: Choose Destination Location
  • The next step is to choose where to install WindNet STREAMS for Tornado. This component release must be installed in a Tornado tree.

The Choose Destination Location dialog box should be on your screen. The default installation directory displayed in the dialog box is the one where WindNet STREAMS should be installed. You can click the Browse button to find and specify another installation directory. You can also click Cancel to stop the installation. Click Next to proceed with installation.

The setup program backs up any existing files in the destination directory whose names conflict with those of files to be downloaded from the WindNet STREAMS CD-ROM. The program also logs each setup activity in a file, setup.log, located in the Tornado root directory, for example, c:\tornado. When installation is completed, a final dialog box appears with an OK button to click.
