This SNMP agent can be managed by an SNMP version-1 (SNMPv1) or version-2c (SNMPv2c) manager. Additionally, the agent can generate SNMPv1-style and SNMPv2c-style traps.

The SNMP agent has been enhanced to support the notion of a master agent working together with one or more sub-agents. Inclusion of this support is optional and can be configured out if you do not need it.

WindNet SNMPv1/v2c supports all MIB-II groups, except the EGP group. MIB source code for the MIB-II groups (in $WIND_BASE/target/src/snmpv1/agent/*.mib) as well as many other pre-defined MIBs ($WIND_BASE/target/src/snmpv1/src/mibs/*.mib) is provided for use as example MIB definitions. In addition, complete support of the MIB-II interfaces group will be released on a BSP-by-BSP basis.

The MIB compiler aids in making extensions to the agent MIB.
